Vandana Gujadhur Bio

I was born on a beautiful Island – Mauritius amidst the Indian Ocean. Healthy eating and physical activity began at home - through consuming fresh produce from our garden and practice of Yoga with my Yogi family. I was fortunate to have Home Economics as part of my grade 7 curriculum and the option to choose Food and Nutrition as part of my curriculum starting in grade 9. My interest in the field of Food Science and Dietetics kept growing and I knew from these early years that I wanted to be a Registered Dietitian.

I wrote the University of Cambridge International Examinations at SC/O’level in 2002 and was nationally ranked 4th among approximately 3000 students in Food and Nutrition. Then, I competed for another University of Cambridge International Exam at HSC / A level in 2004 and was ranked 9th among roughly 1000 students on the Technical side in Mauritius which re-assured me of studying nutrition!
