Dr. Stephen Summey, a highly qualified Doctor of Chiropractic, is now part of the healthcare team at Optimum Wellness Centres. Dr. Stephen also resides in the Bowness community in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He owned and operated several chiropractic wellness centres in Colorado. Dr. Stephen is board-certified in chiropractic orthopedics and sports medicine. A board-certified chiropractic orthopedist is a chiropractic doctor who has completed extensive postdoctoral education in non-surgical orthopedics and passed rigorous specialty board examinations leading to diplomate status as a chiropractic orthopedist. Less than 2% of chiropractic physicians attain this status. To become board certified, the chiropractic orthopedic specialist is required to demonstrate advanced proficiency in the evaluation and non-operative management of a broad range of injuries, conditions, and disorders of the neuromusculoskeletal system on the spine and extremities. He is a published author in the state, national, and international publications, he co-authored a nutrition book which won international awards and is a professional speaker on the international speakers’ bureau. A founding board member of the first multidisciplinary rehab center in Colorado. Dr. Stephen was also on the founding board of The Colorado Society for Wellness & Prevention. The American Chiropractic Association (ACA) Sports Council awarded Dr. Summey the Distinguished Service Award for Outstanding Contributions to the ACA Sports Council, its members, and the sports community. The Colorado Chiropractic Association also awarded Dr. Summey “Sportsperson of the Year.” Dr. Summey lectured on the Doctors’ speaker’s Bureau throughout North America to chiropractors and medical practitioners in continuing medical education courses. He was selected as one of “North America’s Top Chiropractors,” a rare and prestigious award. Dr. Steve is now devoting his time, energy, and skills to delivering chiropractic health services using scientific breakthroughs in non-surgical pain relief. Dr. Summey uses the Sigma Instrument, which is the most advanced spinal analysis and treating instrument today as well as shockwave therapy.
