Dr. Nicole Munro Bio

Dr. Nicole believes in the natural healing capability of the body, and the chiropractic approach to healing the body by balancing the nervous system. Her focus is on addressing the root of the problem so that the patient can focus on healing and achieving their health goals, as well as building confidence in the body’s ability to function at its peak potential. She completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology in Human Kinetics with Distinction at the University of Regina. To prepare for her career as a chiropractor, she attended Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. While there she acted as co-president of Pregnancy and Pediatrics club on campus for several terms, completed training in craniosacral therapy, and started the process of completing her ICPA certification to specialize in treating women, infants and children. During her studies she attended numerous seminars and conferences on functional medicine, functional neurology, applied kinesiology, fertility and pediatrics. She is a Webster-certified provider which is a protocol for balancing the pelvis in pregnant women. She is passionate in refining her knowledge and skill set in pediatrics, pregnancy, pre- and post-natal care, balancing hormones, as well as foundational rehabilitation and exercise. Before attending chiropractic college, she worked in a physiotherapy clinic providing exercise therapy for musculoskeletal rehabilitation clients, and more specifically with pelvic floor health and TMJ conditions. Providing individualized exercise programs is still an important tool in her care regimen for patients. She is trained in utilizing multiple chiropractic techniques in practice and therefore considers herself a “diversified” provider, which means that she will tailor her treatment to a style best-suited for her patient. She focuses on providing gentle and specific adjustments through diversified, drop-piece and instrument assisted techniques. Outside the clinic, Dr. Nicole spends her time paddleboarding, kayaking, hiking, riding her horses, drawing and checking out local cafes. Growing up she was busy with dance and volleyball, as well as competing at rodeos in barrel racing and pole bending through SHSRA and SBRA. It's great that you're considering chiropractic care for various conditions. Chiropractors can indeed provide treatments to address neuromusculoskeletal issues, including those related to scoliosis, hip and pelvis pain, and shoulder arthritis. However, it's important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional, such as a local chiropractor, to determine the most appropriate treatment approach for your specific situation.

For scoliosis, chiropractic care may involve spinal adjustments and exercises aimed at improving posture and reducing spinal curvature. A chiropractor can assess the severity of scoliosis and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.

In the case of hip and pelvis pain, chiropractors can assess the underlying cause of the pain and provide treatments such as spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, exercises, and other modalities to alleviate symptoms and promote healing.

Regarding shoulder arthritis, chiropractors may offer non-surgical treatment options to help manage the condition. These options can include rest, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), chiropractic adjustments to improve range of motion, corticosteroid injections, and heat/cold therapy. However, the specific treatment plan would depend on the individual's condition and should be discussed with a chiropractor.

Remember, while chiropractic care can be beneficial for many individuals, it's important to have a thorough evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional to ensure that the treatments are appropriate for your specific needs. Consulting with a local chiropractor would allow you to discuss your condition in detail and determine the best course of action.
