We all forget things as we age, but that doesn’t mean we have dementia. Dementia isn’t just one condition - it’s a term that refers to symptoms that cause a decline in mental ability that interferes with daily life. Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia and accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. Vascular dementia is the second most common dementia type and occurs after a stroke. Memory loss that worsens over time can be another type of dementia.  Pour plus d'informations et les services locaux des psychiatres locaux à Montréal et à Québec PQ, contactez votre psychiatre local

I’m truly happy and feel blessed to have Dr Husain as my psychiatrist. He doesn’t talk down to me. I can’t praise or thank him enough to have found the right treatment plan and medication for me. He made me feel like a person. I was able to smile which I haven’t done in years. He’s the best.

He told me not to come in unless I had an emergency with my medication and that he was too busy to see me. When he diagnosed me he pulled up the Wikipedia page for BPD and read off of it. I have an anxiety disorder so when he told me not to come in because he was busy, I just haven't been in at all since then and I have my GP re-issue my medication, though my family doctor doesn't have knowledge in mental health or the medications, at least he responds to the pharmacy when I need a refill on my medication. He told me that because I had dyed hair I reminded him of one of his other BPD patients who he hates. He talked about his investments in the stock market and his overall success with money and seeing some movies and other unrelated things about himself. He referenced my appearance and said I should be happy because I have pretty eyes. I felt weird about this because it's unrelated to my mental health. I liked how he was straightforward with my diagnosis, he knew I had BPD almost immediately and the diagnosis really helped me understand some of the things I need to focus on in my own treatment, other than that I don't think he is a good fit for people who are sensitive and anxious.

Dr Hussain is a superior psychiatrist. I love having him as my dr. I have been seeing him for a few years now and he is great. He is very flexible when treating patients. He does not force any specific treatment on his patients. He provides options and allows me to choose the one I feel more comfortable with. He has a sense of humor. I had seen numerous psychiatrist in the past and none of them was successful in treating me. Dr Hussain was able to find the right medication for me to stabilize my mood and helped me to be able to sleep. I really appreciate him, he is down to earth and easy to relate to.

Dr. Hussain has a repetitive them - it is the patient's fault they are sick. He would treat an anorexic by saying "eat something.."
