Dr. Marty Thompson Bio

Dr. Marty Thompson is a chiropractor originally from Kitscoty, Alberta. He completed his chiropractic education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, graduating in 1997. After practicing in High Level, Alberta for 8 years, he relocated to the Okanagan region in September 2006. In 2008, he established Health First Chiropractic, where he has been providing chiropractic care to the community of Lake Country and surrounding areas. Dr. Thompson initially intended to pursue a career in medical school, but his perspective changed after experiencing the transformative benefits of chiropractic care. Recognizing the value of a natural approach to healthcare, he redirected his focus and became a chiropractor. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Thompson enjoys spending time with his family. He engages in activities like dirt biking with his three boys, camping, and finding relaxation in their company. During your initial visit with Dr. Thompson, he will conduct a comprehensive spinal examination to identify any spinal imbalances, also known as subluxations. Additionally, he will discuss your symptoms in detail to ensure an accurate diagnosis. This thorough approach allows Dr. Thompson to develop an individualized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs. It's important to note that chiropractors primarily focus on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions related to the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine. Their treatments often involve manual adjustments and manipulations to promote proper alignment, alleviate pain, and enhance overall well-being. If you are experiencing symptoms or seeking chiropractic care, scheduling an appointment with Dr. Thompson can be a step towards addressing your health concerns.

It's great that you're considering chiropractic care for various conditions. Chiropractors can indeed provide treatments to address neuromusculoskeletal issues, including those related to scoliosis, hip and pelvis pain, and shoulder arthritis. However, it's important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional, such as a local chiropractor, to determine the most appropriate treatment approach for your specific situation.

For scoliosis, chiropractic care may involve spinal adjustments and exercises aimed at improving posture and reducing spinal curvature. A chiropractor can assess the severity of scoliosis and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.

In the case of hip and pelvis pain, chiropractors can assess the underlying cause of the pain and provide treatments such as spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, exercises, and other modalities to alleviate symptoms and promote healing.

Regarding shoulder arthritis, chiropractors may offer non-surgical treatment options to help manage the condition. These options can include rest, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), chiropractic adjustments to improve range of motion, corticosteroid injections, and heat/cold therapy. However, the specific treatment plan would depend on the individual's condition and should be discussed with a chiropractor.

Remember, while chiropractic care can be beneficial for many individuals, it's important to have a thorough evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional to ensure that the treatments are appropriate for your specific needs. Consulting with a local chiropractor would allow you to discuss your condition in detail and determine the best course of action.
