Dr. Jordyn Newman Bio

Dr. Jordyn’s passion for health and wellness stemmed from an active upbringing, which influenced her to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology (and Minor in Psychology) at the University of Victoria (2015). While representing the Vikes in Varsity Basketball, Jordyn experienced a variety of musculoskeletal injuries and spent a lot of her time in the rehabilitation room working with Athletic Therapists, Physiotherapists and Chiropractors. Her overwhelmingly positive experience with these professionals inspired her to pursue a career that allowed her to help others facing similar challenges. After completing her undergraduate degree, Dr. Jordyn worked as a Kinesiologist on the mainland for Reactive Injury Management where she traveled to client’s homes and recreation centers to help them train and recover from work-related injuries, motor vehicle accidents, and improve their overall fitness. During this time, Jordyn realized that she wanted to be able to help her clients in a more in-depth manner, and thus her desire for a deeper knowledge of human anatomy and physiological correction was born. This drive led Jordyn to pursue a Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine and Bachelor of Science in Human Biology at the University of Western States in Portland (OR), where she graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Jordyn’s Post-Graduate Certifications: DNS Strength Training 1 MPI Pregnancy & Pediatrics PRO Chiro Strength and Conditioning for Flexion Intolerant Patients Dr. Snell’s Fix Your Own Back In practice, Dr. Jordyn takes a holistic, multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach to care. It's great that you're considering chiropractic care for various conditions. Chiropractors can indeed provide treatments to address neuromusculoskeletal issues, including those related to scoliosis, hip and pelvis pain, and shoulder arthritis. However, it's important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional, such as a local chiropractor, to determine the most appropriate treatment approach for your specific situation.

For scoliosis, chiropractic care may involve spinal adjustments and exercises aimed at improving posture and reducing spinal curvature. A chiropractor can assess the severity of scoliosis and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.

In the case of hip and pelvis pain, chiropractors can assess the underlying cause of the pain and provide treatments such as spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, exercises, and other modalities to alleviate symptoms and promote healing.

Regarding shoulder arthritis, chiropractors may offer non-surgical treatment options to help manage the condition. These options can include rest, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), chiropractic adjustments to improve range of motion, corticosteroid injections, and heat/cold therapy. However, the specific treatment plan would depend on the individual's condition and should be discussed with a chiropractor.

Remember, while chiropractic care can be beneficial for many individuals, it's important to have a thorough evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional to ensure that the treatments are appropriate for your specific needs. Consulting with a local chiropractor would allow you to discuss your condition in detail and determine the best course of action.
