Dr. Jordan Myers Bio

Dr Jordan has had a passion for health his entire life. After being introduced to chiropractic care as a teenager, which helped the young Jordan recover from a serious lower back injury, he developed a passion for health and fitness. During this introduction to chiropractic care, the migraines that he had also been suffering with for a number of years also disappeared. This experience created a widening awareness of how the full-body benefits from correct spinal alignment and proper nerve function and Dr Jordan's career path was forever changed. Dr Myers graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto in 1988. While in clinic, Dr Jordan was fortunate to receive the prestigious clinic research award for excellence in chiropractic research. After graduation, he returned to British Columbia and began practising chiropractic care in Williams Lake. In 2006, Westwood Total Health, formerly Westwood Chiropractic & Massage, was established in Coquitlam and is now one of the busiest chiropractic clinics in the Tri-Cities communities of Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody. Dr Jordan Myers' focus is delivered through a comprehensive approach to chiropractic care for families, including children. With a background in fitness, having competed in strength competitions and bodybuilding, including winning the Toronto 1st overall and the BC bodybuilding championships, Dr Myers has worked with athletes from a variety of sports, including hockey, bodybuilding, basketball, football, lacrosse, golf, soccer, CrossFit and dance. Dr Jordan believes in educating patients, ensuring they understand how the body functions and heals, and providing them with leading research that supports Chiropractic care. He also believes strongly in a multi-disciplinary approach to natural health and vitality. Outside the clinic, Dr Jordan has a busy, active life and enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr Ardis Krueger, who is a naturopathic physician in Burnaby. They both like to live an active lifestyle with their three children, whether it is stretching, playing sports, getting adjusted, cooking together, reading, or making healthy juices. Dr Myers is committed to making a difference in the Tri-Cities communities by educating the public, local groups and corporations through health education workshops. He thoroughly enjoys working with other health and fitness professionals, especially the physiotherapists and massage therapists at Westwood Total Health, exchanging ideas and information to help patients achieve total body health. It's great that you're considering chiropractic care for various conditions. Chiropractors can indeed provide treatments to address neuromusculoskeletal issues, including those related to scoliosis, hip and pelvis pain, and shoulder arthritis. However, it's important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional, such as a local chiropractor, to determine the most appropriate treatment approach for your specific situation.

For scoliosis, chiropractic care may involve spinal adjustments and exercises aimed at improving posture and reducing spinal curvature. A chiropractor can assess the severity of scoliosis and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.

In the case of hip and pelvis pain, chiropractors can assess the underlying cause of the pain and provide treatments such as spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, exercises, and other modalities to alleviate symptoms and promote healing.

Regarding shoulder arthritis, chiropractors may offer non-surgical treatment options to help manage the condition. These options can include rest, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), chiropractic adjustments to improve range of motion, corticosteroid injections, and heat/cold therapy. However, the specific treatment plan would depend on the individual's condition and should be discussed with a chiropractor.

Remember, while chiropractic care can be beneficial for many individuals, it's important to have a thorough evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional to ensure that the treatments are appropriate for your specific needs. Consulting with a local chiropractor would allow you to discuss your condition in detail and determine the best course of action.
