Dr. Tancock's personal background adds further context to his professional journey. Born and raised in Burlington, Ontario, he later moved to Unionville, Ontario at the age of ten. He attended Markham High School and graduated in 1968. Following high school, Dr. Tancock pursued a History degree at Wilfred Laurier University. He then enrolled at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, where he studied from 1974 to 1977. After completing his chiropractic education, he relocated to Victoria, British Columbia, where he has been practicing ever since. Dr. Tancock started his chiropractic practice in 1977. In 1983, his brother, Dr. Jeffrey Tancock, joined him, and they established their current practice together. During that time, they also operated a satellite practice in Ganges on Saltspring Island for a year, while primarily focusing on their Victoria office. Since 1983, Dr. Tancock has been serving patients from the same office. He specializes in family general practice and utilizes the full spinal motion palpation technique to assess and treat his patients. He emphasizes the importance of a healthy lifestyle, including proper nutrition and exercise, and encourages his patients to adopt these practices. Dr. Tancock maintains memberships in the British Columbia Chiropractic Association, the British Columbia Chiropractic College, and the Canadian Chiropractic Association. Dr. Tancock is married and has a son and a daughter. He considers himself fortunate to have the opportunity to practice chiropractic in British Columbia, particularly in Victoria, and has witnessed the growth and development of the chiropractic profession over the years. He is excited about the contributions that future generations of chiropractors will bring to the field.
