A local cardiologist can also work with your other healthcare providers, from your local registered dietitian to your local Pilates instructor.Atrial fibrillation is an irregular heartbeat, also called an arrhythmia, that can increase your risk of heart failure, stroke, blood clots and other heart conditions. A normal heart contracts and relaxes to a regular beat, but if you have atrial fibrillation, the atria (upper chambers) beat out of sync with the ventricles (lower chambers).

During a coronary angioplasty, a thin, flexible tube called a catheter is inserted into an artery, typically in the groin or wrist, and guided to the blocked or narrowed coronary artery. The catheter is equipped with a deflated balloon at its tip. Once the catheter reaches the target area, the balloon is inflated, which compresses the plaque against the artery walls and widens the artery, restoring blood flow.

In many cases, the angioplasty procedure is followed by the placement of a stent. A stent is a small, mesh-like metal tube that is inserted into the artery  of the heart after the balloon is inflated. The stent helps to keep the artery open and prevents it from re-narrowing. There are two main types of stents: bare-metal stents and drug-eluting stents. Drug-eluting stents are coated with medications that help reduce the risk of the artery re-narrowing.

Coronary angioplasty is typically performed under local anesthesia, and the patient is awake during the procedure. It is considered a minimally invasive procedure and has become a common treatment option for coronary artery disease. It can relieve symptoms such as chest pain (angina) and improve blood flow to the heart, thereby reducing the risk of heart attacks and other complications associated with CAD. I've sat here and really thought about posting this. I've never had to leave a negative review anywhere. But honestly, Dr. Lashevsky is extremely rude and doesn't care for his patients, but he's very sweet to his secretary though, that was very clear. I just didn't have the same experience. Always late, frequently hangs up on patients. The last two times I had the pleasure of speaking to them I was left in tears with absolutely no help offered and chastised for the fact that I missed an antibiotic on a massive list of medications he told me to read on my own and then hung up on me. Furthermore, I keep seeing these reviews that speak of reassurance. I requested if I can be provided in writing that it is okay for me to take the vaccine with LQT however instead of reassurance I was told he's "not an insurance company" in what universe is that professional or reassuring? I brought valid concerns to the table. He told me I was getting my news from social media and there are no concerns with hearts and the vaccine. "As part of the careful monitoring of these vaccines, reports of rare cases of myocarditis (inflammation of the heart muscle) and pericarditis (inflammation of the tissue surrounding the heart) after immunization with mRNA COVID-19 vaccines continue to be reported in Canada and around the world." <-- That's off the canada gov website and not facebook. But hey you can always just tell me to find another cardiologist and hang up. That's the solution to all unruly patients. Atrocious. Rude and dismissive.
