We all forget things as we age, but that doesn’t mean we have dementia. Dementia isn’t just one condition - it’s a term that refers to symptoms that cause a decline in mental ability that interferes with daily life. Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia and accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. Vascular dementia is the second most common dementia type and occurs after a stroke. Memory loss that worsens over time can be another type of dementia.  Pour plus d'informations et les services locaux des psychiatres locaux à Montréal et à Québec PQ, contactez votre psychiatre local

If I could leave a zero star rating in order to rate what a terrible waste of time this Doctor is, I would. He is dismissive, and after building up enough anger to tell him I feel dismissed by him, he tells me he doesn’t dismiss me. Has absolutely no self awareness for himself. According to him there is no way someone in their 40s can have a heart attack so I should just get over that I have high glucose, high cholesterol, high BP, and high Red Blood cell/Hemoglobin and a history of heart problems on both sides. Despite changes to diet, drastically reducing sugars, numerous meds trials, and trying to find enough time exercise: it just must no be enough exercise and I’m just too fat, lazy and not enough meds. Here have some more! Never feel like he remembers who I am and abruptly chances subjects or ends conversations, with a see you in 2 months. My family doctor and I tried to get me referred to a new psychiatrist and I was told by his practice that I was rude and ungrateful and would never get a referral for a new psychiatrist in this PUBLIC HEALTH facility. I constantly feel like he purposely revs me up, just to make me feel worse

Very disappointed with Dr. Devarajan. Please don't waste your time here if you have ANY other options. I wish I could sue him to get back the wasted decade of my life that I'll never get back. - makes fun of patients to their face - does not listen to any patient's concerns, believing only his first assessment and refusing to change his opinion - Extremely uneducated in current research and knowledge about mental illness (He officially diagnosed me with ADD instead of ADHD, despite ADD being removed from the DSM in the 80s!) - Very rude and devoid of empathy - Unwilling to explore different prescriptions to avoid ineffective or side-effect-heavy medications - Very poor memory, seems to forget everything from previous sessions but does not write down what the patient says. - Was convinced I was a cannabis addict, and was extremely rude about it. Nothing would convince him otherwise, despite not smoking any in years.

He was quite rude. Did not listen, and had to repeat myself numerous times. Felt like he was looking down on me.

He is a very caring doctor. He takes the time to understand your concerns and I have never felt rushed to get in and out. He is not just a pill pusher as he actively promotes the benefits of cognitive behavioral therapy.

He was very patient with me and is very understanding of the different aspects of a mental illness. He is focused more on patient healing more so than anything else and is very encouraging. He also is very willing to squeeze you in as need be; emergency visits are understood.
