Dr. Simpson Leung Bio

Dr. Simpson Leung, Doctor of Chiropractic, Graduate from the Spine Research Institute of San Diego in Whiplash and Brain Injury Traumatology, Certified in MLS Class IV Laser Applications, Certified in Shockwave Therapy Applications This is my Story I was first introduced to chiropractic care in the summer of 1996. My mother suffered severe whiplash and neurological problems as a result of a traumatic motor vehicle accident. A drunk driver ran a stop sign hitting her on the passenger side. By accompanying my mother as a translator and interacting with her Chiropractor, I learned first hand about the importance of spine and nervous system health on a person’s quality of life. During many months of rehabilitation, chiropractic care made drastic improvements to my mother’s overall health. Her neck pain and headaches lessened; the numbness in her arms and hands improved; all of which lessened her need for the harmful drugs prescribed by her family doctor and medical specialists. It was this experience with my family that instilled a desire in me to change my pursuit of becoming a dentist, and provide care for suffering people like my mother by becoming a chiropractor without the use of drugs or surgery.  I finished my undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta and continued my graduate studies at Palmer College of Chiropractic West graduating with high honors. As a result of my personal experience with my family regarding car accidents, I completed special studies at the Spine Institute in San Diego, CA on Whiplash and Brain Injury Traumatology. Being on the forefront of the most cutting edge technologies has become the focus of my desire; and being able to offer these treatments for patients who suffer from acute to chronic pain has become my passion. I have made Abbotsford my home since 2003 and enjoy living and serving in the Fraser Valley with my beautiful wife Marissa, and our two amazing children. This wonderful community has given me much and has enabled me to fulfill my goal and vision of building a modern, fully equipped Chiropractic clinic. I feel extremely blessed to have the privilege of giving back to its diverse people by providing quality, effective evidence-based Chiropractic and Medical care.

It's great that you're considering chiropractic care for various conditions. Chiropractors can indeed provide treatments to address neuromusculoskeletal issues, including those related to scoliosis, hip and pelvis pain, and shoulder arthritis. However, it's important to consult with a qualified healthcare professional, such as a local chiropractor, to determine the most appropriate treatment approach for your specific situation.

For scoliosis, chiropractic care may involve spinal adjustments and exercises aimed at improving posture and reducing spinal curvature. A chiropractor can assess the severity of scoliosis and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.

In the case of hip and pelvis pain, chiropractors can assess the underlying cause of the pain and provide treatments such as spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, exercises, and other modalities to alleviate symptoms and promote healing.

Regarding shoulder arthritis, chiropractors may offer non-surgical treatment options to help manage the condition. These options can include rest, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs), chiropractic adjustments to improve range of motion, corticosteroid injections, and heat/cold therapy. However, the specific treatment plan would depend on the individual's condition and should be discussed with a chiropractor.

Remember, while chiropractic care can be beneficial for many individuals, it's important to have a thorough evaluation by a qualified healthcare professional to ensure that the treatments are appropriate for your specific needs. Consulting with a local chiropractor would allow you to discuss your condition in detail and determine the best course of action.
