We all forget things as we age, but that doesn’t mean we have dementia. Dementia isn’t just one condition - it’s a term that refers to symptoms that cause a decline in mental ability that interferes with daily life. Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia and accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. Vascular dementia is the second most common dementia type and occurs after a stroke. Memory loss that worsens over time can be another type of dementia.  Pour plus d'informations et les services locaux des psychiatres locaux à Montréal et à Québec PQ, contactez votre psychiatre local

First of all- when I was referred to Dr. Binder I was NOT made aware I was in assessment program that was temporary. I was to be diagnosed- put on the right meds- then move on. I felt like I was being pushed to get in the right dosage of meds quickly, so she stayed on until we thought we found the right dosage. But it was too much, (vyvanse) and all I wanted was an ADHD psychiatrist- a permanent one. She said I’m supposed to now get my meds through my family doctor??? Ok? They don’t know everything about adhd symptoms and meds and all I wanted was to have a permanent psychiatrist to help me. So since my family doctor retired- I go through my psychiatrist (I have ocd). But it seems stupid because she doesn’t know as much about adhd clearly because she had to refer me to this program in the first place. So I am now having major issues because even though the vyanse helps it causes depressive side effects. She told me ADHD symptoms get worse with pms but since being on vyvanse (she said it is supposed to help with pms mood swings— it doesn’t. It makes it worse). I was not even told that 46% of women with adhd have pmdd and I was not assessed for that and I’m pretty sure I have it because I have been having the absolute worst pms with out of control mood swings, depression, fatigue, body aches, and my life feels abs

Finally! After multiple attempts to get help from mental health professionals, Dr Binder got to the bottom of what was driving everything. Since being treated for ADHD, everything is so much better. I’ve been able to stop all other medications except one for sleep. She’s super nice too.
