We all forget things as we age, but that doesn’t mean we have dementia. Dementia isn’t just one condition - it’s a term that refers to symptoms that cause a decline in mental ability that interferes with daily life. Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia and accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. Vascular dementia is the second most common dementia type and occurs after a stroke. Memory loss that worsens over time can be another type of dementia.  Pour plus d'informations et les services locaux des psychiatres locaux à Montréal et à Québec PQ, contactez votre psychiatre local

Very rude, patronizing, and dehumanizing. Says “I’m not meaning to be invalidating” before saying very invalidating things as if that helps. Knows shockingly little about physical health. She said in her own words that she knew “very little” and relied on medical students to provide information on it to her which is gravely dangerous and bordering on malpractice for someone practicing inpatient psychiatry. Mostly wanted to comment this so that if you feel unheard, dehumanized, insulted, and neglected by her…you are not alone at all and your feelings are valid.

Left me hanging. No communication to me directly in closing my file. Sent in a inadequate amount and dosage of Vyvanse...which is a controlled drug. In addition to the above, Dr. Jahandar communicated with pharmacy to have me follow-up with family Dr. For my medication as file is closed. My family Dr, Laila Jumma, has been on maternity leave since December 2021. Her back up Dr left in November and unsure on her return..the 3rd back Dr. Also gave an inadequate amount due to not having any history...it new years eave I have 2 days of meds left and I will suffer severe withdrawal, due to the long term use and 60 MG dose of Vyvanse. Terrible position to be in considering I have mental health issues

didn’t care about what i had to say. repeatedly misgendered me after getting gender dysphoria treatment. my referrals never called me back. and only referred me to private institutions despite knowing my financial problems. knows nothing about low income mental health care. only cares about medication. she’s just a doctor to get my refills.

I found Dr. Jahandar very rude and condescending. She seemed more interested in her office than her patient. I would not recommend her.

She was my psychiatrist for 2 years. Was NOT helpful, was condescending and blunt. Refused to discuss suicidal thoughts, plans, etc. Dropped me as a patient when I was in a mental health crisis. Told me that NOBODY can help me....

I don’t feel she had the care or knowledge to further pursue additional consultation. I have since found another doctor and immediately know I made a great choice.
