As a chiropractor, Dr. Mohammed Elkassem brings two important things to work every day – a wealth of knowledge and a ton of enthusiasm. Both are equally important assets to his patients. ​ Dr. Elkassem completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Western Ontario where he graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science, Honours Biology. Following that, he graduated with honours from the New York Chiropractic College in 2005. Dr. Elkassem was honoured with numerous academic awards including being a 5 time recipient of the NYCC Outstanding Academic Achievement Scholarship, a 5 time recipient of the NYCC International Scholarship award and culminating with his induction into the Phi Chi Omega Chiropractic Honours Society. Following graduation, Dr. Elkassem re-located to his wife's hometown: Edmonton. In 2005 he began working as a chiropractor at the Maloney Elkassem Chiropractic and Massage clinic in St. Albert. ​ Dr. Elkassem has extensive experience in treating amateur, college and professional athletes in a wide variety of sports. He has acted as the team chiropractor for the Buffalo Bandits professional lacrosse team and the Buffalo Gladiators semi–pro football team. As well he has acted as club chiropractor for the St. Albert Rugby club. Additionally, several professional hockey players in the Edmonton area choose Dr. Elkassem as their chiropractor. ​ Dr. Elkassem also has a huge passion for clinical nutrition and functional healing. He has recently completed a Diploma in Functional Medicine and is now a certified functional medicine practitioner. He helps patients with many chronic health conditions improve their overall health and quality of life. ​ Dr. Elkassem resides in Edmonton with his wife, Dema, and their children: Ayah, Zack, and Alisa. He is active in the local community. ​ Away from the office, Dr. Elkassem enjoys playing basketball, golf and weight-lifting. ​ Dr. Elkassem is proud to be a member of both the Alberta College and Association of Chiropractors (ACAC) and the Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA).
