Dr. Marc Beauchamp Bio

My name is Dr. Marc Beauchamp. I’m an orthopaedic surgeon and I received my degree in orthopaedic surgery in Montreal in 1993. After graduating, I completed a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery, arthroscopy, and sports medicine at the University of Toronto from 1994 to 1995. At the time, I was part of the medical staff of the Toronto Raptors NBA team. I then supplemented my training with specialized courses in both the United States and Europe. From 1996 to 2005, I was affiliated with Université de Montréal as an assistant professor in the Department of Surgery. In addition to being a specialized clinician, I am also a researcher, speaker, and author of a number of articles and book chapters. I also serve as a consultant for several teams and businesses, including Cirque du Soleil and the Montreal’s Centre Métropolitain de Chirurgie.

During hip or knee replacement surgery, the surgeon removes the painful joint and replaces it with an artificial joint made from plastic, ceramic and/or metal.

Treatment for shoulder arthritis may include non-surgical approaches such as pain management, physical therapy, and lifestyle modifications. In more severe cases, surgery, such as joint replacement or joint fusion, may be considered to alleviate pain and improve shoulder function. It's important for individuals with shoulder arthritis to consult with a healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan.
