Dr. Dewar was very conscientious explaining procedures, expected outcome and recovery. I left his office feeling that he had my best interests. Though there was no specific educational materials provided, his thoroughness was more than adequate to get a sense of what to expect and for how long

I liked his directness and the whole experience (from pre-op to post-op care) was everything he said it would be. Also liked the vein of humor I thought I discerned; it helped me stay on the rails. On the negative side, he didn't go out of his way to make me feel welcome--seemed overworked and as if he had no time to waste. But I'd go to him again if I needed a cardiothoracic surgeon again. I think he genuinely likes what he does.
