Dr. Kara Haus is a chiropractor who graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in 2020. Before attending CMCC, she obtained a Bachelor of Kinesiology in Human Kinetics from the University of Regina in 2016, graduating with great distinction. During her time at CMCC, Dr. Haus developed a keen interest in various chiropractic techniques and therapies. She focused on spinal and extremity adjusting, muscle release techniques, soft tissue therapy, KinesioTaping, and instrument-assisted soft tissue release techniques. Additionally, she became certified as a Functional Integrated Acupuncture provider. Throughout her undergraduate studies, Dr. Haus placed a strong emphasis on exercise and rehabilitation for individuals of all strength levels and abilities. As part of her chiropractic training, Dr. Haus completed her internship at Sherbourne Health, located in downtown Toronto. This experience allowed her to gain valuable insight and experience in treating patients who have been affected by systemic oppression. Dr. Haus also played a significant role in establishing a club at CMCC dedicated to education and leadership for the queer/LGBTQ community. She served as the club's first president, showcasing her commitment to creating a supportive environment for marginalized groups. As an openly queer practitioner, Dr. Haus is particularly interested in studying and addressing the discrimination that marginalized communities, such as women and the queer community, face at various levels of healthcare. She strives to create a practice space that promotes safety and inclusion for individuals from all backgrounds. Outside of her professional life, Dr. Haus enjoys spending time with her wife, Dru, and their two puppies, Joey and Henry.
