We all forget things as we age, but that doesn’t mean we have dementia. Dementia isn’t just one condition - it’s a term that refers to symptoms that cause a decline in mental ability that interferes with daily life. Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia and accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. Vascular dementia is the second most common dementia type and occurs after a stroke. Memory loss that worsens over time can be another type of dementia.  Pour plus d'informations et les services locaux des psychiatres locaux à Montréal et à Québec PQ, contactez votre psychiatre local

Over 5+ year under the care of Dr. Grynspan, his compassionate, attentive, intelligent approach to mental health care was nothing short of transformative. His support and guidance were the key to my recovery from a severe substance use disorder, and despite a complex and long history of challenges and largely ineffective work with other psychiatrists, his patience, diagnostic skill, and tireless work led to a multifaceted approach to medication and counselling that has enabled a level of self-actualization and well-being that I never thought I'd attain. Words don't do justice to the deep gratitude I feel towards him and all the work he did to help me find a path towards a life worth living. I changed from living in a small, isolated, tormented world, to not just thriving, but being able to give back, engaging with my communities and the world, and in my own small ways, helping other people who are struggling find their own path towards a rewarding life.

Initially this doctor was fine but I then requested my medical records and saw the notes he took from our sessions. He made comments about eye contact and my weight. He often cut off our sessions at 20 minutes even though I was scheduled for an hour appointment. The worst part was that he misdiagnosed me with anxiety and depression when instead I really had ADHD. He carelessly prescribed me numerous meds, including Vyvanse, when I asked despite not having a valid reason.
