One of the most common nutraceutical supplements that is recommended is omega 3 fatty acids, derived from fish oils.

They have been shown to benefit cardiovascular health as well as neurological health, also benefiting arthritis and autoimmune diseases for their anti-inflammatory action. Omega 3 fatty acids have been proven to be safe for use of all ages and also can be taken long term and at high doses.

Another really important vitamin is vitamin D, particularly in Canada due to the fact that we have less sunshine compared to other parts of the world.

Basically vitamin D is made naturally from the sun or the skin but when we supplement vitamin D we want to use vitamin D3. It has been researched has linked it to supporting your immune system so lower levels put you at risk for cancer, heart disease, poor immune system and also poor bone health.

So you want to make sure that you have your vitamin D levels tested and the approximate dose that is typically prescribed ranges from 1 to 5,000 IUs.
