Spondylolisthesis refers to the forward slippage of one vertebrae on the one below it in the lumbar spine.
It often occurs alongside spondylolisis and is most commonly seen among girls.
Treatment for this condition consists of relative rest, physiotherapy, cross training as well as possible bracing for support. In most cases, conservative treatment is just what is needed, however, in very extreme cases, surgical options may need to be explored.
If you dance and are experiencing low back pain, please do not hesitate to contact your local family physician or sports medicine physician and physiotherapist.
