On the topic of surgery for erectile dysfunction there is a specific condition that does sometimes require surgery called Peyronie’s disease.
And Peyronie’s disease is a condition of fibrous tissue developed on usually the top of the penis or the dorsum of the penis and that fibrous tissue can cause erections to be either painful or sometimes markedly angulated and it can make intercourse uncomfortable or, in fact, anatomically impossible.
So, surgery sometimes is necessary to correct the structural problem in the penis in that situation. And to decide if this is something that is appropriate for you you’d have to talk to your primary care practitioner and be referred to a urologist who specializes in that kind of care.
So, if you have questions about erectile dysfunctions or low testosterone, whether you think you have these conditions or you wish to explore the therapies, do discuss it with your primary care practitioner.
