CBT, or cognitive-behavioural therapy, is a kind of talking therapy, usually provided by psychologists, in which individuals learn to cope more effectively with life problems or mood issues using skills and strategies that are taught in a step-by-step way.
It is most commonly used for common mental health problems like depression and anxiety, and there's quite a bit of research showing that it's very effective. If you think CBT might be appropriate for you, what you want to do is find a psychologist who works in this cognitive-behavioral therapy model.
