  Prior to my autoimmune disease being diagnosed Dr Elkin would not refer me to a specialist's because " I had no family history". I finally left the country to have my condition diagnosed. When I asked to see a specialist Dr Elkin said "No". Ever time he would ask for blood tests he would have me return with the news my antibodies were rising and that I should come back in 3 months with no resolution as to how to have me feel better. Last spring of 2016 I returned to take blood tests of the building that Dr Elkin had his office to find out the entire building was emptied and the doctors moved away. No notice to his patients not even a message on their answering service. I will no longer follow such a flippant physician that only want to charge the system with call backs and blood test orders without treating the condition. I have lost trust with the Manitoba medical physicians and again I will be pursuing my condition out of country to investigate my health issues. We should have a dual system within our province of social system as well a private where people have the choose to pick their health care.

  I am so lucky to have Dr. Mark Elkin as my GP. I have been with him since he first started at Charleswood Medical and then followed him to South Sherbrooke. He really cares about his patients. When he needs to send you to a specialist it is done right away. He is GP to nearly all our family members and we all feel the same way about him. Appointments are prompt and Yes you can ask him about more than one issue per visit.
