I would like to have a clearer picture of a somewhat realistic life expectancy given my enlarged heart and the improvements achieved since diagnosis several years ago. I realize this information would be quite patient specific, but some discussion of expectations for longevity would be helpful.

I had an event with my heart and Dr. Steyn was the cardiologist on call so was called in. I am a female only 44 years of age and was not given any definitive answers as to what occurred. I consider myself to be someone who has a high pain tolerance, however I have had constant pain in my chest/lung now for almost three weeks after the event. I have been back to ER on another occasion and still have not received further answers as to what is wrong; all I know is since the day of my heart event I have not been back to my previous health. I did not have a lot of questions at the time, however since have had many and would have found a follow up visit very beneficial. Along with the constant pain in my chest/lung I have had some other symptoms follow that seem to be stroke like which frightens me. I have been to my family physician, however I feel nobody is treating this as urgent as I feel it should be. I am not educated in medicine by any means, however have done some research on my own and I am concerned I have some pulmonary concerns and would like this addressed. I was a very healthy 44 year old who has jogged for many years and would just like to have my health back or at the very least have some answers as to what is occurring or a follow up visit.
