Dr. Derek J. Martyniuk B.M.Sc., D.C. Chiropractor, Active Release Technique Provider, Medical Acupuncture Provider Dr. Martyniuk has practiced chiropractic since 2011 and has been a proud resident of Sarnia since he was 10 years old. Currently he has moved back to Sarnia after 14 years of education and employment as he is proud of his hometown. He is excited to apply his knowledge and skills as a means to give back to a great community. He graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC) in Toronto as a proud 2011 graduate. His supplemental courses include Active Release Techniques and Motion Palpation Institute seminars which complement his manual techniques as a chiropractor. In his third year at CMCC he received the Orthotic Group Excellence in Biomechanics Scholarship for obtaining the highest grade in human biomechanics. Prior to CMCC, he attended the University of Western Ontario for 4 years and received a Bachelor of Medical Science Degree (Honours) majoring in medical science and physiology.  Dr. Derek Martyniuk has also completed his medical acupuncture program at McMaster University in the fall of 2021, which consisted of 200 hours of lectures, practice sessions, and examinations. Through experience and research he has learned about a variety of chiropractic-related conditions which aid him in providing the best evidence-based care towards his patients. He always looks forward to expanding his knowledge in chiropractic education and believes that continuing competency and professional growth are part of a core responsibility as a chiropractor. Derek always finds time to balance his academic work and extracurricular activities. He is currently certified as a personal trainer specialist and enjoys attending the gym to meet new people and stay active. Throughout his childhood and academic career he has participated in various sports with hockey, volleyball, and baseball being his favourite. He looks forward to helping you achieve overall function and pain relief in all aspects of life whether it be sports, activities of daily living, or just general health.
