MScPT, BKin, Sport Physio Cert — Physiotherapist book with Alison

Alison has been interested in Sport Physiotherapy since working as student athletic therapist for the Western University Mustangs Football team. There she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, followed by her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from Queen’s University in 2016. Following graduation she enrolled in the Sport Physiotherapy Fellowship through the Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic in London to pursue her interest in athletic injuries. There she was the Physiotherapist for all of Fanshawe College’s Varsity teams.

Since the fellowship Alison has been practicing in Niagara as a Physiotherapist, and continuing Sport Physiotherapy coverage with a local midget AA girl’s hockey team, as well as Ridley College’s athletics. She achieved her Sport Physiotherapy Certificate in 2019. That year, she was also honoured with the Standard’s Readers’ Choice Award for Best Physiotherapist.

In the clinic, Alison uses her diverse knowledge in sport, biomechanics, and training to help her patients rehab from injuries and return to activity. Her treatment techniques are a combination of manual (hands-on) therapy and exercise training to help her patients achieve their physical goals.

Alison has been a sport participant throughout her life. She has competed in soccer, hockey, volleyball, badminton and pole-vault. She also enjoys a variety of recreational activities such as water skiing, running, tennis, spin classes and weight training. She looks forward to meeting the ProActive Centre community, and continuing to serve the Niagara Region by providing high quality, individualized physiotherapy care.
