A radiologist is a physician who specializes in obtaining and interpreting medical images through x-ray, CT scan, ultrasound and MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). A radiologist may be trained in a subspecialty such as radiation oncology or gastrointestinal radiology. In treating patients a radiologist can also educate them on mammography, diagnostic radiology, neuroradiology, nuclear radiology, pediatric radiology, chest radiology, cardiovascular radiology, emergency radiology and musculoskeletal radiology.
