TINY TOTS – AGES 3 & 4 YEARS


Class consists of basic ballet, tap (optional), tumbling exercises, nursery rhyme, song and dance. This class is specially designed for the enjoyment of children this age.


NON EXAM BALLET, TAP AND JAZZ:


Classes are taught following the same guidelines as exam students without the emphasis on the exam. These classes are for the enjoyment of dance while still learning good dance technique.


BODY CONDITIONING & JUMP & TURN:


These classes are designed to develop flexibility and strength, which are essential to the progress of any dancer.  Students will also be introduced to a variety of turns and jumps and be given the chance to work on perfecting the correct technique, coordination, proper placement and execution of these elements.  These classes are invaluable to the progress of the children.


EXAMINATION CLASSES:
R.A.D. Ballet – Graded & Vocational Syllabis


Students follow set curriculum set by the Royal Academy of Dance. The work in this syllabus has been arranged to meet the needs of all children. It is intended as a sound preparation for those who will progress to serious ballet training. Royal Academy of Dance examinations are internationally recognized.


C.D.T.A. Tap and Jazz – Children and Majors


Students follow a set curriculum set by the Canadian Dance Teachers Association, the work in this syllabus encourages the proper use of co-ordination with emphasis on technique and musicality. Examinations in this syllabus are nationally recognized.


All students, non exam and exam, at Sitter School of Dance are taught with the importance of correct placing of the body, legs and feet and co-ordination of the head and arms. We also strive for the spirit of dancing which should be freely felt as enjoyment of movement.
