Once you are accepted into the Quinte Midwifery Care in Belleville Ontario your midwives will be on call for you 24 hours a day.  You will see your midwife through out your pregnancy as you would your regular doctor.  Your prenatal visits will be 30 minutes in length and once a month up to 28 weeks.  After 28 weeks you will have prenatal visits every two weeks and once at 36 weeks you will have a visit once a week.  Your midwives will attend your labour and birth as your primary care givers responsible for both you and your baby.  For your first week postpartum, your midwives will visit you either in hospital or at home after which regular clinic visits will follow for up to 6 weeks postpartum.
