COMPONENTS OF PROGRAM:

1.Access to our service in a timely fashion
2.Review of medical problem and/or injury
3.Review of medical reports and diagnostic tests
4.Detailed assessment of the current musculoskeletal and/or neurological symptoms
5.Evaluation of functional abilities and disabilities with respect to lifestyle and/or work activities
6.Establishment of a comprehensive rehabilitation protocol
 

REHABILITATION PROTOCOL:

First Phase

•Attendance depending on the severity of the symptoms, 1 to 3 times per week for 2 to 3 weeks
•Specific treatment for pain control, swelling, joint dysfunction and muscle imbalance
•Initiation of progressive muscle strengthening for improvement of specific and global function and, when appropriate, the introduction of cardiovascular function
•Education of the patient on their injuries and setting management goals (long and short term)
•Education on pain management
•Introduction to a home exercise program
Second Phase

•Attendance depending on the symptoms, usually 1 to 2 times per week for 2 to 3 weeks
•Exercise programs progressed to include the following:
Muscle strengthening

Stretching

General work conditioning

Cardiovascular conditioning

Range of motion exercise

Stability exercise

The exercise programs are tailored to individual clients and are designed to achieve optimal strength and endurance specific to their individual needs and their lifestyle requirements. We work to maximize potential and assist in the transition to optimal function as quickly as possible.
