Coquitlam, Vancouver and Port Moody, BC Digital X-Ray

In digital radiography the X-ray picture is recorded and stored on a computer rather than on an X-ray film during a conventional X-ray. The X-ray procedure is the same, but MedRay just replaced the film with a digital sensor. This makes X-rays of areas like the chest, spine, limbs or abdomen available immediately.

Some of the benefits of digital radiography compared to traditional X-ray exams:

  •  Excellent image quality
  •  Less radiation
  •  Easier storage and transfer of images to other physicians
  •  Fewer repeated X-rays due to faulty processing
  •  Multiple copies of the X-rays can be made and sent, with no risk of the original X-ray exam being lost or damaged during transition
  • Less harmful to the environment- toxic chemicals used to manufacture and develop X-ray film are not used

Port Moody, Coquitlam and Vancouver, BC Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a specialized diagnostic medical procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves. Ultrasound produces dynamic visual images of tissue, blood flow and organs inside the body. Ultrasound may be used to examine various parts of the body such as the abdomen, female reproductive organs, pelvis, breast, scrotum, thyroid and more. Diagnostic ultrasound during a woman's pregnancy can be done for numerous indications and can provide information on the health of both the mother and the unborn baby. During your pregnancy, your doctor may want you to have an ultrasound in order to:

  •  Evaluate early pregnancy
  •  Estimate and confirm gestational age
  •  Monitor the baby's growth
  •  Check baby's development and viability
  •  Check for the position of placenta
  •  Check amniotic fluid levels
  •  Check for twin pregnancy

At MedRay Imaging, we can reveal the gender of your baby during 2D ultrasounds that are performed at 20 weeks or later. There is no need to pay for an another ultrasound to determine your baby's sex. However, if you want to start your baby's first photo album early on you may be interested in our 3D/4D ultrasound option.

If you need a diagnostic ultrasound, rest assured, it is not invasive and not painful at all. There is no ionizing radiation used with ultrasound, which is found in x-rays. Ultrasound has proven to be very safe and there are no risks to a pregnant woman or her unborn baby.
