Because the pump uses units as small as 0.025 and allows you to adjust rates throughout the day, very precise moments throughout the day, it can really be adjusted to each and every patient’s individual metabolic needs.

The continuous glucose monitoring system can be really beneficial to patients because it can help them detect their low or high blood glucose level much sooner than if they were waiting to poke their finger and do a glucose test.

The system also offers alerts as to how fast or how their blood glucose is changing over time. It allows them to make changes based on their trends over time.

Some of the pumps are also offering a function, which is called the low glucose shut off, and basically, what that is, is that it shuts the infusion of insulin off so if the patient is hypoglycemic and is not aware of it, then the system will shut off for them preventing further infusion of insulin.
