Medical Education Dreaming of becoming a doctor while growing up, Kapoor was accepted into Irkutsk State Medical University in 1994 and completed his final years of medical training at St. Petersburg Medical Academy in 2000. His passion in cardiology grew once he had begun his medical education in Russia. This motivated Kapoor to continue working hard to succeed in helping those with heart-related health conditions. After graduating from medical school, Kapoor arrived in Canada and completed his 3-year residency program in Internal Medicine at the University of Alberta. There he became the first Turbaned Sikh Chief Resident in the Department of Medicine. Kapoor then went on to receive his Cardiology training at the University of Manitoba and trained in Carotid Ultrasound at the Cleveland Clinic.     Very unprofessional, terrible experience, amol kapoor dismissed all of my symptoms and concerns and insisted nothing was wrong. He wasted my time, charged my health systems alot of money for tests he ignored. I had a second opinion recently which lead to not one but 3 diagnosis. This man should not be practicing medicine . Patients do not deserve to be treated with such disrespect and malpractice. Formal complaints will be filed with the appropriate institutions.

    My father is going for an emergency cardiac surgery. Dr Kapoor did 3 stress & echocardiogram plus countless MPI tests at his facility in last 6 months & told my father his chest pain and pressure he is feeling around his chest is age related and due to arthritis and weakness in his bones. On continuous requests for more tests & an angiographic appointment he wrote the referral saying “nothing is wrong but to clear your doubt I will refer you” we have been asking for these tests for 3 years and now our father was in so much distress. Dr Kapoor talks to patients as they are stupid. My father had 6 stents in past, and now has 4 blockages out of which 2 are 90% 1 at 70% and another one at 50. This doctor had an unnecessary echocardiogram booked at his own clinic just 3 days before his Angiographic test at Foothill Hospital just to make money for his local testing Center. Doctors are shocked to see the results and why out father was ignored like this. Don’t ever go to this doctor. Once our dad is better we will be filing a complaint against the doctor at CPSA.
