A local cardiologist can also work with your other healthcare providers, from your local registered dietitian to your local Pilates instructor.Atrial fibrillation is an irregular heartbeat, also called an arrhythmia, that can increase your risk of heart failure, stroke, blood clots and other heart conditions. A normal heart contracts and relaxes to a regular beat, but if you have atrial fibrillation, the atria (upper chambers) beat out of sync with the ventricles (lower chambers).

During a coronary angioplasty, a thin, flexible tube called a catheter is inserted into an artery, typically in the groin or wrist, and guided to the blocked or narrowed coronary artery. The catheter is equipped with a deflated balloon at its tip. Once the catheter reaches the target area, the balloon is inflated, which compresses the plaque against the artery walls and widens the artery, restoring blood flow.

In many cases, the angioplasty procedure is followed by the placement of a stent. A stent is a small, mesh-like metal tube that is inserted into the artery  of the heart after the balloon is inflated. The stent helps to keep the artery open and prevents it from re-narrowing. There are two main types of stents: bare-metal stents and drug-eluting stents. Drug-eluting stents are coated with medications that help reduce the risk of the artery re-narrowing.

Coronary angioplasty is typically performed under local anesthesia, and the patient is awake during the procedure. It is considered a minimally invasive procedure and has become a common treatment option for coronary artery disease. It can relieve symptoms such as chest pain (angina) and improve blood flow to the heart, thereby reducing the risk of heart attacks and other complications associated with CAD. I have been with Dr. Anil Gupta for the last over two years. All through this period, he never met me in person. All consultation is over the phone. Even in these phone consultations. He is always late. His only diagnostic tool is the Holter Monitor! Based on that, he talks to you, no wonder, his diagnosis is totally off the mark. In my case, in September 2022, my family physician made a referral to him noting some worsening cardiac symptoms. For two months he did nothing. Family physician called and spoke with him, yet he did nothing! In November 2022 an annual checkup was due. There again nothing happened. I finally had the referral from the family physician go to another cardiologist. That cardiologist met me in person and had me go through several tests including an angiogram. The diagnostic conclusions were far more serious. Gupta kept saying the situation is mild! Thank God I met this wonderful cardiologist. I am scheduled for a surgery soon. If I had remained with Gupta, I would still be waiting and he would be swung the situation is mild!! A totally arrogant and incompetent professional. If I had a way, I would complain to the medical council to have his license cancelled. If you care about your health, run from this incompetent idiot. Added to that, his office assistant is equally arrogant and always unhelpful. I wonder why this guy has a private practice. I I could give a rating below zero, I would give it to this guy,
