Bipolar disorders are a type of mood disorder. There are several subtypes of bipolar disorders. The most common ones are Bipolar 1 and 2 disorders. These affect approximately 5 percent of the population, which means that we have about 1.5 million people with this condition in Canada. Bipolar disorder is a serious psychiatric condition.

We all forget things as we age, but that doesn’t mean we have dementia. Dementia isn’t just one condition - it’s a term that refers to symptoms that cause a decline in mental ability that interferes with daily life. Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia and accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. Vascular dementia is the second most common dementia type and occurs after a stroke. Memory loss that worsens over time can be another type of dementia.  Pour plus d'informations et les services locaux des psychiatres locaux à Montréal et à Québec PQ, contactez votre psychiatre local

Shocking a man that was escorted off VIHA Addictions and MH building in Port Alberni due to negligent care of patients (he would see 40 patients a day, mix medications and files, had no idea who was who, know there history, and prescribe the same meds to almost everyone), is still able to operate with a licence and supposedly "treat" patients. Very concerning.

He refused to listen to my concerns and instead prescribed me medications without telling me what it was for. He then told me I had bipolar and schizophrenia, however I had come in for an ADHD assessment. Very condescending doctor. No wonder why he keeps moving practices (from Ontario to Port Alberni to Langley) in the past couple of years.

I was referred to this doctor by my doctor to get an assessment for ADHD. My doctor had told me that we times to get a test for very long and to help me avoid the long wait time he would send my referral to multiple clinics, so which ever one could take me first I could go with and not wait as long. After hearing that appointment for ADHD assessments have a six months to two years long wait time I was extremely surprised to get a call from the clinic the same day that my referral was sent. I got the call on a Friday and my appointment was set for a Monday morning so that was really quick. It comes time for my appointment on Monday morning and the doctor is 40 minutes late calling me. When I had spoke to the receptionist originally she told me that an assessment would take at least 40 minutes. The doctor only talked to me for 15 minutes. This was supposed to be in ADHD assessment, but he didn’t ask me any questions related to attention. He specifically only asked me questions about anxiety, and which I told him I do not have much anxiety, but struggle with it occasionally in certain situations I don’t have a problem with a it and that it doesn’t really affect my everyday life. On top of that his English is not great and the call with my phone and I felt that a lot got lost in translation. He spoke over me a lot I didn’t listen to my answers, and when he would repeat my answer, I would have to correct it him. After 15 minutes hr told me that he believes I have an anxiety disorder. He said that I could be given meds to help me cope with anxiety, and then I told him that that wouldn’t make sense to medicate myself for anxiety. If I don’t struggle with anxiety, he didn’t care to talk to me anymore, and just said if I don’t like it but I don’t have to take the meds but it’s his opinion and there’s nothing more to talk about. After reading all the reviews, it almost seems that he he prefers to diagnose everybody with anxiety. Maybe he doesn’t understand enough about any other disorder I’m not sure, but there’s no way that everyone goes to the clinic only has anxiety.

I absolutely loved this Dr. I read the reviews before going in and obviously I was a bit skeptical but my appointment went very well. I have been suffering from social anxiety and major depressive disorder and it was my first time seeing a psychiatrist. I had done a lot of research on what to expect and was about to change my mind with some reviews I had read about other doctors. Finally I decided to give this a shot and it was the best experience. The Doctor is quite affirmative which may come across as direct but such is the case with people with years of experience I believe. I was very satisfied!!

I AM SO GLAD I FOUND THIS MAN. I am glad I didn’t read the reviews before meeting him because I would have missed this opportunity of getting the help I need. I have been suffering from depression and anxiety since I was a teenager and know all the psychiatrist has been able to balance me out. My family doctor finally referred me to Dr. Fadeyi A month ago, and I got a referral within two weeks. I told him all the medications I was told to take and I am not really a big fan of taking medication‘s in general. After he explained the benefits and risks of some of the medication, he adjusted them for me And assured me that if I ever needed a sooner appointment then the one he is giving me for my Next visit I should just call the office. I felt safe with him and his staff were very friendly. I believe everyone may have different experiences but mine was amazing.

Horrible experience. The dr was okay at asking questions, definitely didn’t explain the medication, and then the pharmacist told me the medication he prescribed actually negatively reacts with one I’m already on (the dr knew I was on this) His staff is atrocious I’ve never been so frustrated dealing with an admin staff, they messed up on sending my medication numerous times. They messed up my appointments numerous times and tried to say it’s what the dr wanted (it wasn’t). I’ve never struggled so much with an admin team.

Avoid at all costs. Was referred to him for an autism and adhd diagnosis and flat out refused to even listen to why I was referred to him and just wanted to talk about depression and anxiety. Kept talking over me every time I tried turning the appointment back to why I was referred. Prescribed meds without asking if I wanted them. Avoid at all costs. He will cause way more damage than good. How he is considered a psychiatrist is beyond me and BC needs to revoke his license before he gets someone killed.

I was referred by my family doctor to Dr. Fadeyi's office. At first I was skeptical as I have had terrible experiences in the past with doctors. However my experience at his office was calming, the staff were very friendly and I felt he understood my situation. I usually don't like taking medications but he was able to assure me that the medication I was to try will benefit me in the long run. I am so glad I took his advice and I am feeling much better. I understand everyone will have different experiences but I am pleased with my experience at his office and I am happy to see him again for a follow up.

This was one of the worst experience I have ever had with a "health care professional". It is clear that he does not listen, has no attention to detail and already knows how he wants to "diagnose" you despite the information that you provided to him. I was diagnosed with ADHD and then referred to his clinic for treatment. It was obvious he did not go through my previous 200 question report for my original diagnosis. Then asked 4 leading questions to diagnose me with depression and anxiety. I have no issues with depression or anxiety. I asked what I could have said to lead him to believe that is what I am struggling with and he gave me his interpretation of what I said (he was wrong, it was clear he did not listen to anything I said) and when I told him he did not understand what I was saying he YELLED AT ME. "I AM A DOCTOR AND YOU ARE NOT. YOU DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING AND THIS IS MY DIAGNOSIS." it was beyond unprofessional. I wish I would have seen these reviews before waiting ages to get an appointment. The medication I was prescribed is actually making me feel much worse and I have booked an appointment with another doctor. Given the options of seeing Dr. Oludare Fadeyi or paying for a private clinic, I would pay for someone to treat me like a person. Please do not waste your time with him. People like this should not be allowed to practice. As a psychiatrist I could see him doing more damage to a person than good strictly based on his attitude, never mind how he chooses to "diagnose" his patients.

Not sure how he is a doctor or how the government is considering him one. I see him as a living example of how a bad doctor is. Not recommended, and must be held legal liability. Avoid at all costs, dont go to him for mental health; you might end up deteriorating. I'll be writing Health BC about this dude, and how he practicing.

I always read reviews before I go and see a new Dr, or specialist, so as some of you had stated I was nervous for my appointment and a little skeptical. However, I found he listened to what I had to say, was compassionate, and gave me some options I could do on how to help. I listened to what he thought was best, and I am so glad that I did! by my next follow up I was already feeling so much better. Between my GP and Dr. Fadeyi, I finally felt heard!

In my experience Dr Fadeyi always uses speaker phone when doing phone appointments and is incredibly difficult to understand half of the time due to poor sound quality. He has a very clear bias against any cannabis related treatments and absolutely no respect for therapists. The main concern I had with him is he prescribed me a medication that has a main side effect that directly conflicts with a condition he knows I'm currently undergoing treatment to fix. I appreciate that his office is quick with arranging appointments, but I had really hoped he would take a moment to properly explain things and listen to what I had to say.

I’ll be honest I was pretty spooked by the other reviews on here, and tried to get a referral to another psychiatrist. However, I’m super relieved to report I did NOT have a similar experience to the other reviewers here. I found Dr. Fadeyi to be good enough and left the appointment with a clear action plan and hope for my future, which up to this date tbh has been extremely challenged by the terrible experience I’ve had with my general practitioner and I’m trying to access psychiatric help. After waiting 7 months for an appointment with another psychiatrist which was taken suddenly off the books, Dr. Fadeyi was able to fit me into a cancellation spot with just a couple days of notice. He took the time (an hour phone call) to listen carefully to what I had to say and asked a lot of questions. Finally someone took seriously the suspected diagnosis I came for help with, after discussing it for the past 5 years with my therapist and with friends and family in the health field. I did find he interrupted a bit, but you can’t expect everyone’s bedside manner to be Crystal perfect. I am quite satisfied with the care and attention I received today from Dr. Fadeyi, and MOST importantly of all he offers a follow up appt 5-6 weeks after starting the medication he recommended, and more can be booked on an as needs basis. This is something that NONE of the other psychiatrists I’ve been referred to or attempted to see would offer. They all just wanted to put a bandaid on the problem (ie prescribe the drugs) and then hope you go away. For ongoing care they want you to see your family doctor- I don’t have one the doctor I’ve been seeing has made it very clear he is not comfortable or competent in that area. I’m leaving today’s appointment with a huge sense of relief and hope for the future.

Was not helpful for me, when I asked questions about his diagnosis after a 15-20 video call, all I received from him was a list of his credentials and how long he has been in practice, very dismissive and defensive.

I have been suffering from Social Anxiety Disorder for some years and I have been looking for a doctor that can understand this situation as my family no longer can help me overcome it. Ever since I had a zoom appointment with Dr. Fadeyi he was able to understand where I was coming especially my struggles with my family not understanding what I am going through. I am looking forward to my in person visit with him in 6 weeks!!

My first phone call appointment with Dr Fadeyi went very well. He listened to everything I had to say and I felt like he understood what I’ve been going through (ADD, social anxiety, bipolar) He prescribed me some medication to try out and I’ve been on it for the past 5 months. It has improved my day to day life significantly.

I am quite surprised at these comments. I saw Dr Fadeyi recently in his office and it was quite a pleasant experience. He listened to me and was able to understand a lot of my problems and frustrations. He prescribed me some medications that has worked very well for me and I left his office that day smiling. I would see him again and again. I think people just need to keep an open mind and not go to the doctors office thinking they already know better. I was very happy to get the help I needed!!

Dr F was unprofessional, dismissive, condescending and rude, which is not what a person needs from a psychiatrist. I'm really unsure how he can properly assess and prescribe any medication considering he does not take the time to listen. He was a waste of my time and I felt worse after each appointment. Please take this warning and do not go to him and request a referral for anyone else but him. Ps: he pushed Divalproex on me too, and kept wanting to increase it and it was not helpful nor do I have seizures or bipolar
