We all forget things as we age, but that doesn’t mean we have dementia. Dementia isn’t just one condition - it’s a term that refers to symptoms that cause a decline in mental ability that interferes with daily life. Alzheimer's is the most common type of dementia and accounts for 60 to 80 percent of cases. Vascular dementia is the second most common dementia type and occurs after a stroke. Memory loss that worsens over time can be another type of dementia.  Pour plus d'informations et les services locaux des psychiatres locaux à Montréal et à Québec PQ, contactez votre psychiatre local

This doctor misdiagnosed me and ended up causing me long term harm. Instead of discussing my symptoms he would conduct surveys for his research all the while billing AHS for this time.

If you get a referral for this doctor, do not go, and look at your other options especially if you are looking for an ADHD diagnosis. He is very unprofessional, very judgemental and does not care to learn more about his patients. Additionally, his attitude towards women is horrible and very traditional. I believe he is from Dubai, which would make more sense why he does not feel women should voice their opinions. He will ask uncomfortable questions about your personal life that are unrelated to the assessment. He attempted to prescribe me sleeping pills, however, I had never mentioned any sleeping problems to him. Ironically, he “diagnosed” me with bi-polar instead of ADD. Not sure, how he can diagnosis someone over the phone in less than an hour without even seeing them in person. To make that kind of diagnosis, you need to learn about multiple parts of your patient’s life and ask different questions. Furthermore, after learning that I took cannabis to reduce stress, he required me to stop taking any cannabis until my next appointment with him. The staff did not follow-up with me or provide a requisition form for the test. When I asked if it was a blood or urine test. His receptionist said it was a blood sample, however, when I arrived to do the test, I was told it was a urine sample. Overall, the lack of transparency and communication made me feel very judged like I was an addict. I will be reporting him to the College of Physicians and Doctors of Alberta. I believe he pushes mediation on others because he is currently doing research. He needs to realize that his patients are not live experiments that he can try different pills on. Psychiatrists should not make you feel invalidated, uncomfortable or judged. He is not liked by other Psychiatrist’s that have worked with him in Calgary.
