It's crucial to continue receiving vaccinations throughout life to protect against infectious diseases that haven't been eradicated and to maintain immunity against those for which immunity wanes over time.

The emergence of antibiotic resistance has indeed made the treatment of certain infections more challenging. Vaccination plays a critical role in preventing infections in the first place, reducing the need for antibiotics and helping to curb the development of antibiotic resistance.

Some vaccines, like the tetanus vaccine, require booster shots because the immunity they provide gradually decreases over time. By staying up to date with such vaccinations, adults can ensure they maintain optimal protection against preventable diseases.

Moreover, adult immunization has broader benefits beyond personal protection. By getting vaccinated, healthy adults contribute to the concept of herd immunity. This means that when a significant portion of the population is immune to a disease, it creates a protective barrier that helps prevent its spread and protects those who are most vulnerable, such as young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.

It's important to have open and regular discussions about immunization with primary healthcare providers. They can provide guidance on the appropriate vaccines and schedules based on individual health status, age, occupation, travel plans, and other relevant factors. By staying proactive and getting vaccinated as adults, we can collectively reduce the burden of infectious diseases and help protect ourselves and others.

My husband and I have all been with Dr. Chung for over 25 years. Our four children were added to her practice as they came along, and Dr. Chung has always been exemplary in her care for our health. She will go above and beyond in getting the test/specialists needed to diagnose your issue. Out of her hundreds of patients, she remembers us, even when we haven't been in for more than a year! She takes the time to explain things, and I never feel left in the dark. There a bit of a wait in her office, which is why I pick first of the day appointments. But the wait is because she takes time with people. I'm very happy with her as a doctor!

Dr Chung has been my family Doctor for many years as well as my daughter's. I have moved 2 hrs away yet continue to have her as my preferred physician as she has taken care of our family for many years. She was able to also help my Mother who wasn't a patient at the time get the proper care she needed. Imagine Dr Chung was the only one who took the time to look at what was happening and after her diligence it was found that my Mother had been dealing with a broken neck for 6 weeks. Dr Chung wasn't even her Doctor. My Mother passed 3 months later but Dr Chung was always in communication with me and went well above what a Family Doctor typically does. As long as she practises my daughter and I will remain her patients. Worth the Drive from Peterborough. Of note I recently went to another doctor convenient to my location and he stated nothing was wrong with my shoulder( no testing was completed) after being sent for tests by Dr Chung if was found that I did have something a bit more concerning that I am now going to be able to get corrected.

Doctor Chung has been a very poor doctor to me since day one. I’m quite young and have found that over the few years, she’s been very forgetful, careless, and probably should retire very soon. My health is at risk being with her and I often have to REMIND her about what I’m in for and what health problems I’ve been having, which before appointment she should be educated on. My advice to any future patients that want to go to her, don’t. You will soon realize how careless she is with her job.
