Dr. Larry Goldenberg is in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr. Larry Goldenberg is a urologic surgeon and clinical scientist who is recognized internationally for his contributions to prostate cancer research and treatment. His work has provided the scientific basis for a number of international Phase II and III clinical trials, and his book, Prostate Cancer: All You Need to Know to Take an Active Part in Your Treatment, is considered one of the best resources for men diagnosed with the disease.
Dr. Goldenberg is professor and head of the Department of Urologic Sciences and the Director of Development at the Vancouver Prostate Centre. He is also an active member of staff at Vancouver General Hospital. He has been co-Chairman of the annual Issues and Controversies in Prostate Care conference for 15 years. He was president of the Canadian Urological Association, the Western Section, American Urological Association, the Canadian Academy of Urologic Surgeons and the Northwest Urological Society. He was inducted into the Order of British Columbia and the Order of Canada in 2009.
Dr. Goldenberg received his medical degree in 1978 from the University of Toronto and did his urology residency at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He became a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada in 1984.
