Dr. Jon Chan , Rheumatologist, Vancouver  is an assistant clinical professor at the University of British Columbia. He obtained his bachelor's degree in medicine and completed his medical school training at the University of Alberta in 2009. Afterward, he pursued his specialization in Internal Medicine at the University of British Columbia and obtained his Royal College fellowship in Rheumatology. In 2015, Dr. Jon Chan , Rheumatologist, Vancouver  was awarded the Assessment of Spondyloarthritis Society (ASAS) fellowship grant, which allowed him to complete a clinical fellowship in axial spondyloarthritis (ankylosing spondylitis) at the University of Toronto. He has a strong interest in this field and actively engages in research, presenting on the topic internationally. Dr. Jon Chan , Rheumatologist, Vancouver  plays an active role in the Canadian Rheumatology Association's therapeutics committee. He coauthored the Canadian Spondylitis Treatment Guidelines and serves as the core site leader for the national spondylitis and psoriatic arthritis research cohorts (SPARCC and iPART). He is also a member of various Canadian, American, and international research networks such as SPARCC, GRAPPA, SPARTAN, and ASAS. One of Dr. Chan's core beliefs is that involving patients in the decision-making process is crucial for maximizing their benefits. Dr. Sun has a general rheumatology practice and also has special interest in interventional pain procedures and chronic musculoskeletal pain management. He practices at both ARTUS and the ChangePain clinic. Dr. Sun is also a clinical staff member at Mount St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Biosimilars are biological products used in the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psoriatic Arthritis and Ankylosing Spondylitis. Uric acid is a natural waste product that forms when the body breaks down purines, which are found in certain foods and are also produced by the body. Normally, the kidneys filter out the uric acid, and it is excreted in urine. However, in people with gout, either the body produces excessive uric acid or the kidneys are unable to remove it efficiently, resulting in high levels of uric acid in the blood.
