    Dr. David Cresswell, My name is Tina Lackner and I am a Professor with Humber College (in the diploma/degree Child and Youth Care Practitioner program), a Psychotherapist, a Certified Play Therapist and a Certified Children’s Yoga Teacher. I am currently on a Sabbatical from Humber College to explore the effectiveness in treating and preventing mental health issues with children and youth by integrating Yoga, Mindfulness and Emotional Well Being classes. In the fall I offered this program to a school in Cambridge (for 5 classrooms between grades 1-5) with much success. It became increasingly clear how taking an hour out of the week (for 6 weeks) began to offer children insight to emotional regulation, conflict resolution, controlling ones own body/breathe and increasing self esteem and body awareness. I am now reaching out to others who are invested in children and tweens physical, emotional and mental well being to support promoting and sharing the information on my upcoming classes. I would like to send you the outline for the 8 week program I am running in the community (two locations – 1 in Kitchener, 1 in Cambridge). If you have any questions or would like me to come in to further discuss the program I would be more than delighted to come in and do so. I have a very strong passion and belief that by offering these programs to our children/tweens and youth at a young age we are gifting them with life skills that will aid in healthy emotional, physical and mental wellbeing.
