A general practitioner is a medical provider who treats acute and chronic illnesses. GPs provide preventative care for people of all ages. They generally work out of clinics, but many have hospital privileges, too.

Migraines

A migraine is much more severe than a regular headache. Migraines last longer than tension headaches, and are often associated with an extremely sharp pain. While physicians aren't sure of the exact cause of migraines, there are a number of migraine triggers. Common migraine triggers include sound, light and movement, alcohol, stress, lack of sleep and caffeine. A big part of migraine treatment consists of avoiding migraine triggers. Many people isolate themselves in a dark room and take ibuprofen, acetaminophen, or Gravol.

Constipation

Constipation is a condition that affects many people. Constipation is defined as having difficult and infrequent bowel movements, usually with the passage of hard stools. Constipation treatment is a long-term process.

Many times, constipation is related to diet, so constipation treatment involves drinking more water and getting more fibre. Other ways to treat constipation include increasing the amount of fresh vegetables and fruits, and grains you eat. You should also eliminate refined foods, sugar, caffeine and alcohol.
